The granite, a material emblematic of southern Manche.

During summer there are guided visits and stone-masonry demonstrations are organised. The Park & Museum of Granite is situated at the start of the granite route. At the entrance of the Valley of the Sée and of the Vire, a touristic circuit named « chemin de la pierre percée » (The path of the pierced stone) was created in 1994. The route is outlined from the museum by contemporary granite posts. These last ones stretch to about five hundred kilometres on small routes and guide the visitors towards the curiosities to discover.

Educational activity : Le Parcours de Picatou

Guided by a mascot named Picatou, the students, accompanied by their teacher, benefit from a course adapted to their level (8-12 years). Ten posts shown in a fun manner material, the traditional techniques of size and the use of objects sculpted from granite. Some silhouettes placed in the reconstructed quarry, illustrate the stages of fabrication of the slabs. This process is done from 1st June 2015 to 31 December 2015 and lasts about 30 minutes.
